The Leprosy Mission, known in the Netherlands as Leprazending, will soon host a mini-symposium to commemorate its 150th anniversary. The theme is: “Shift of Power – Practical experiences.” ‘How organizations and individuals from project countries can meaningfully participate in all levels of strategy and project execution, and how we can work together more equally.’
Together, we will look at success factors and challenges in the shift of power and inclusive decision-making. We will reflect on our own role and how Leprazending/The Leprosy Mission has shaped this over the past 150 years.
The keynote speaker is Amar Timalsama. He is a former member of the international board of The Leprosy Mission and a representative of IDEA International. IDEA International represents people affected by leprosy and other neglected tropical diseases and advocates for their rights.
The symposium will conclude with a networking reception.
