Strengthening Families, Protecting Children – Online Conference
Millions of children are separated from their families around the world, and this separation can often be prevented. SOS Children’s Villages International is launching a groundbreaking report on 29 October 2024, International Care and Protection Day. Together with 10 academic institutions from around the world—including Brown—it conducted research on the phenomenon of separation of children and families.
The report provides insight into understanding and preventing children from being separated from their families worldwide. It contains new information and suggests solutions to prevent children from being unnecessarily separated from their families by addressing the causes.
At the online conference ‘Strengthening Families, Supporting Children‘ on 30 and 31 October, we’ll delve deeper into the topic. This conference is aimed at NGOs, professionals and experts in the sector or organisations working on international cooperation, sustainable development and poverty reduction.
This online conference, organized by SOS Children’s Villages, will bring together state and non-state actors, researchers, and practitioners from Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East to share learnings on systems and interventions that strengthen families, ensure adequate care for children, and prevent separation.
