The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently working on an Africa strategy. A publication is expected in the third or fourth quarter of this year. Partos, together with members and other relevant stakeholders, will organise a number of thematic input sessions in the month of June 2022. The aim of these sessions is to arrive at recommendations for the Africa Strategy. For each session, a panel of experts (NGOs, African representatives, academics) will be assembled to discuss the topic at hand and try to come up with recommendations, led by a moderator. The discussion will be streamed and participants will also be able to provide input.

This session will be moderated by Dr. Jaïr van der Lijn (SIPRI).

The panel will consist of:

  • Helen Kezie-Nwoha (executive director Women’s International Peace Centre, WIPC)
  • Niagalé Bagayoko (chair of African Security Sector Network, ASSN)
  • Levinia Addae-Mensah (program director of West Africa Network of Peacebuilding, WANEP)
  • Nelly Mbangu Madieka, (Coordinator Sauti ya Mama Mukongomani, Voice of Congolese Women)
  • Fathima Azmiya Badurdeen (lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences, Technical University of Mombasa)
