Taking stock of shifting power dynamics
In 2021 the Strategic Partnerships started to experiment with ‘shifting the power’ to tackle unequal power relations within their governance structures and programmatic work. During this interactive online session, we will embark on an exploratory journey to learn from successes and brilliant failures after one year of SPs. Which characteristics play an important role herein? What recommendations do we see moving forward? And what support might we need to do the right things?
Plan Nederland will present an interesting use case from the She Leads Alliance. Furthermore, we will collect lessons learnt, best practices and tips & tricks through interactive plenaries and break-out sessions. This session will be facilitated by Gerrit de Vries from Joint Purpose, an international expert in shifting power and partnership building.

What are the Strategic Partnerships
Strategic Partnerships (SPs) are an instrument to facilitate cooperation between the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and civil society organisations. The SPs are implemented under the ‘Strengthening Civil Society’ policy framework with four grant instruments: Power of Voices, Power of Women, SRHR Partnership Fund and Women, Peace and Security. Under the Strategic Partnerships Lab Partos facilitates learning & innovation for and with the Strategic Partnerships.
