NB: Partos aims for foreign guests to feel welcome at Partos Innovation Festival, so all communications on the festival will be in English.
The overall festival theme this year will be A future we want. Together we will explore innovative and transformative ways to become future-fit in the field of development cooperation. Partos chose this cross-cutting theme to follow up on its Future Exploration in the past year. At the Festival you can hear inspiring talks or follow sessions on new ways of working together, inclusion, digitalisation & data, youth movements, activism, gender, SDGs, storytelling and many, many more! Soon you can read more on a special Festival page on the Partos website.
Meet some of our hosts and speakers
We are very happy to announce Marina Diboma, Deputy Managing Director of NABC as the host and facilitator of our Partos Innovation Festival 2018. Born and raised in Cameroon, Diboma is a graduate from the University of Amsterdam with degrees in Communication Science and Business Studies. She has proven experience in establishing and strengthening both South–South and South-North cooperation through trade, investment and development. She is also organising the FAB Forum on June 19!
Also Mark Kamau, an user experience designer from Kenya will be joining us. With his passion for Afro-centric solution design, he will take you on a road of African designed solutions and new ways of connecting people all over the world.
As the need for accelerating the responsible use of digitalisation & data was one of the outcomes of the Future Exploration report, we are happy to have Linda Raftree, who has worked at the intersection of community development, gender, youth participatory media, rights-based approaches and information and communication technologies (ICTs) for almost 20 years. She is the co-founder of MERL Tech, a platform and space for discussion, learning and sharing experiences and challenges in the social impact and humanitarian and international development fields.
Of course story tellers, design makers, photographers and filmmakers will make this festival a joy for your eyes and ears with stories and images that matter. We are therefore more than happy to welcome wordsmith Atta de Tolk (Fouad Bechara) at the Partos Innovation Festival. As a rapper he knows how to reach (young) people.
Partos & The Spindle organise the annual innovation festival to highlight innovative ideas in the field of development cooperation.
