On 9 June, Partos welcomes directors and senior-level management to a session at the offices of Free Press Unlimited in Amsterdam. The session will be facilitated by Post X Society and will explore the urgent need to transition away from Big Tech in our work.
Post X Society will be presenting on the Free Cloud: switching to a fair digital infrastructure. Free Press Unlimited will give insights into their best practices on the switch to a fair and responsible digital context.
Your organisation is committed to human rights, development cooperation or climate justice, but your data is stored on US servers, your money goes to Big Tech, and working with your target group depends on platforms that do not share your values. In the current geopolitical climate, this is untenable.
Free Cloud is a coalition of NGOs that have collectively chosen open-source, European-hosted infrastructure. Nextcloud instead of Google Drive, Listmonk instead of Mailchimp, Nextcloud Talk instead of Teams, Pretix for events. Non-profit, no lock-in, no shareholders or takeovers.
The problem we’re solving: switching to fair infrastructure without having to set up an IT department. We share the burden of migration on a step-by-step basis. You’re left with time for your mission.
In this presentation, Post X Society will explain how the coalition works, what switching actually entails, and what steps your organisation can take.
