Following up on our leadership session on digital sovereignty this past June, Partos, together with Post X Society, is hosting a hands-on session for practitioners who want to start implementing digital sovereignty within their organisations.
In this session, we will explore the practical steps needed to make the transition: what to consider when shifting systems and practices, how to navigate organisational and technical challenges, and how to make these changes workable and sustainable within your team.

Civil society organisations often rely entirely on Microsoft or Google. That’s handy – until you stop to think about who manages your data, and just how dependent you’ve become on anti-democratic actors. Vrije Cloud is a member-driven alternative. We’re open source, hosted in Europe, and set up by and for Dutch civil society organisations.
In this workshop, you’ll learn why we launched Vrije Cloud, what prompted it and what solution we offer. Afterwards, we’ll get stuck in with some hands-on work. You’ll start with Nextcloud, learning how to share files, make video calls and create online forms. We’ll also take a look at the other systems we offer, such as Matrix (chat), Pretix (ticketing) and Listmonk (newsletters).
This workshop is for anyone working for NGOs, foundations, cultural institutions, journalistic initiatives and other organisations that want to regain control over their digital infrastructure. In-depth technical knowledge isn’t required. You will, however, need a laptop.
You’ll go home with a working account on our demo server, practical experience and a clear understanding of what a switch would entail for your organisation.
