Access to Justice for Ngo’s
Access to justice is not only about big lawsuits, landmark court rulings and asserting rights to international institutions, it also depends on whether civil society actors have practical access to the legal knowledge and support they need to operate effectively and protect their missions. By connecting Ngo’s directly with commercial Pro Bono lawyers, this Legal Health Clinic renews the promise of justice through law in a very concrete, everyday way: making legal expertise accessible to the organizations working on the frontlines of civil society, human rights, and the public interest. With this, Partos and Pro Bono Connect seek to actively promote and strengthen the rule of law for civil society.
What is the Legal Health Clinic?
The legal health clinic offers civil society organizations the opportunity to speak one-on-one with lawyers from leading commercial law firms. Located in a cafe setting at The Humanity Hub, participants can bring questions on governance, ANBI status, contracts, legal research and legal protection, among other topics. Through this clinic, we aim to lower the threshold to legal expertise and help Ngo’s strengthen their legal and organizational resilience.
Practical Information
Good to note that the language for the event is in English but the one-on-one sessions with the lawyers can be both in English and in Dutch. The event will take place in-person on the 3rd Floor of the Humanity Hub in the cafe. Attendance at this event is free of charge.
