For our finance department, we are looking for a

Project Controller

(32-36 hours, vacancy number 2023-29)

You will work on the project control of international programmes, in a team with 11 colleagues who are responsible for the project control of our programmes and for the financial control and financial administration of Rutgers.

 

What you will be doing

As a Project Controller you are responsible for the financial control of one or more international programmes with activities such as:

  • You take care of the financial project management and the associated financial accountability of the programme. You provide insight, analyse the financial situation of the programme and advise on financial and administrative control.
  • You ensure correct, timely and complete financial project administration, including taking care of periodic closings and internal and external reporting;
  • You are responsible for compliance with financial requirements and donor requirements, including coordination with partners organisations and the accountant. Occasionally, international traveling may be required for this;
  • You contribute to the development of project budgets within the international context of Rutgers and support (programme) managers during consultations with financial donors, as well as performing risk analyses and audits for potential partner organisations;
  • You advise project leaders and (programme) managers on issues related to planning and control and contribute to the development and improvement of the planning and control cycle and the quality system of the organisation.

 

What we are looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with a Bachelor’s knowledge and working level. You have at 3 to 5 years of work experience in a similar position and you are used to working with deadlines. Preferably you have gained this experience within an international setting, working with institutional donors.

 Other competencies:

  • Team player, focused on collaboration;
  • Experience in the use of automated financial and administrative programs. Experience with Exact Globe, Synergy and/or Elvy is an advantage;
  • Extensive knowledge of Office 365, especially Excel;
  • Independent, solution-oriented; structured and accurate;
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English; command of French is prefered;
  • You are eligible to work in The Netherlands and able and willing to travel abroad on a regular basis.
  • Remote working is not an option for this position.

 

What we offer

You will work in an exciting and challenging international working environment, with highly motivated and passionate colleagues. Depending on knowledge and experience, the salary for a 36-hour working week for a programme officer is minimum € 3.835 and  maximum € 4.981 gross per month (FWG scale 60). These salaries will be raised by 5% organisation per 1 November 2023. In addition, Rutgers also offers a competitive package of secondary employment conditions, including end-of-year bonus. The collective labour agreement cao ggz applies.

Our office is located in Utrecht, the Netherlands, but you will be working with colleagues all over the world. Most colleagues work from home a significant part of the week. Fully remote working is not an option.
