The Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DGIS) and Partos are delighted to invite you to contribute to the Dutch Digital for Development (D4D) mapping. This study aims to identify Dutch activities and projects implemented by Dutch NGOs and their partners using digitalisation to increase their impact. The study consists of a on-line questionnaire, interviews with selected actors, preparation of case studies and a roadmap to improve Dutch added-value and visibility in the European context.

BACKGROUND

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), RVO and Partos aim to gain a better understanding of the digital knowledge and expertise of Dutch NGOs within their projects. This insight will help strengthen their position in European programs, scale up successful initiatives, and connect the right actors to relevant (funding) opportunities.

We invite NGOs and civil society organizations to participate in this survey. The results will:
✅ Provide a clear picture of which organizations have expertise and experience in Digital for Development (D4D)
✅ Identify who is active where and which digital tools are being used
✅ Create (funding) opportunities for NGOs in European programs
✅ Create opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange
✅ Help prepare a Dutch roadmap for further actions towards the EU Digital Hub
✅ Better communicate about the Dutch D4D field by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and RVO with regard to international donors (EU, WB, UN Agencies, etc)

WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

📌 Projects and/or services where digitalisation [1]plays a prominent role to achieve results

📌 Projects and/or services where technology such as geospatial technologies, digital platforms, mobile applications, big data, blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, etc) plays a prominent role

📌 Projects and/or services that use a or multiple digital delivery channels such as E-learning, digital skills, gaming, call-center support, chatbots, etc

📌 Recent projects and/or services implemented during the last 5 years

📌 Please note that G4AW projects are already identified and included in the database used for this mapping.

The assignment Akvo is carrying out  consists of this online questionnaire, with in-depth interviews and a few case studies to further develop a roadmap. The results of the survey and the various case studies will be shared with the participants.

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Submit your projects before the 6th of May.
  • Each submission is a project or service where your organization is in the lead. A project can be implemented in various countries and use different digital tools & approaches, yet this still counts as one project or service. Digital services (such as training) can be presented as a project.
  • Fill out the questionnaire as many times as you have projects to submit.
  • Not necessarily all your projects and/or services need to be included, think of the most important ones, the ‘flagship projects’ that can be considered innovative, have clear results/impact, and align with Dutch and EU objectives.
  • If you would like your project to become a case study, please be so kind as to fill out the optional questions in as much detail as you can.
  • Again, please note, only projects from Dutch NGOs can be considered.
