Over dit event
Travel is often essential to our work. At the same time, it is one of the biggest sources of emissions in NGO operations. How do we navigate this tension while continuing to deliver meaningful impact, in absence of compelling emission reduction regulation, and in view of the fact that our sector is under pressure?
On 28 May, CARE, MSF, SNV and War Child organize a Sustainability Café focused on the role of travel in NGO sustainability efforts. The session will create space for NGO practitioners, students and operations colleagues to reflect on the practical dilemmas around travel, budgets and programme delivery.
Through short talks and rotating discussion tables, participants will explore questions such as:
- How can organisations encourage more sustainable travel choices?
- How do we balance programme needs, budgets and climate considerations?
- How can sustainability remain part of everyday organisational decision-making?
Rather than focusing on theory, the conversation will centre on real operational challenges and shared experiences from across the sector. Coffee, tea and conversation included. After the session, you are welcome to join for drinks and networking at the War Child office from 17:00-19:00.
