As digital innovation accelerates in agriculture, managing farmer data ethically and effectively becomes increasingly complex. Governments worldwide are introducing regulations inspired by frameworks like the EU GDPR and the new EU Data Governance Act, affecting data flows and privacy. Understanding these regulations and their implications for your organisation ensures compliance and fosters innovation.
In this panel, we will discuss these implications based on several perspectives. After introductory presentations on evolving regulatory frameworks, compliance (Jane Ombiro, Southend Tech) and an innovative case on using biometric verification (Jan Willem van Casteren, eProd), panellists will reflect from a donor perspective (Tomas Moerman, Netherlands Enterprise Agency), a policy perspective (Frankline Agolla, Tony Blair Institute for Global Change), a company perspective (Candice Kroutz-Kabongo, Solidaridad), and an civil society perspective (Emmanuel Makau, Mercy Corps Agrifin).
