A lot is already happening. For example, several Partos members have youth councils, youth ambassadors, communities, and other forms of youth participation. The question, therefore, is not whether young people should be involved, but rather how we can involve them in a meaningful way.
We view youth engagement as extremely valuable for Partos and the sector. Young people bring new perspectives, experiences, and passion, and can contribute to the future of international cooperation. But how do we ensure that young people are not merely consulted or represented, but can actually exert influence? And what can we, as a branche association for international cooperation, offer young people?
On October 2, we want to explore the question: What form of youth engagement contributes to a future-ready Partos association and international cooperation sector, while also offering value to young people themselves? The needs, experiences, and perspectives of young people will be central to this discussion.
The outcomes of these discussions and meetings will form the basis for a recommendation from young people to the Partos association. This recommendation can be presented to the Partos board and shared at the General Members’ Meeting in November.
For this meeting, we are looking for a diverse group of young people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives who are interested in international cooperation. You don’t need to be an expert in youth participation or work for an organization in the sector. It is precisely your own experience, ideas, and vision for the future that are valuable. You will receive a volunteer compensation and have your travel expenses reimbursed for participating.
