Partos & Ringo | Partnership announcement

19 mei 2022

We are pleased to announce that for the 2nd year in a row we have entered into a partnership with the Re-Imagining the INGO inititative (RINGO). For multiple years, Partos has actively supported the ‘shift the power’ movement pushing for more equal power relationships within development cooperation. In the upcoming years, Partos will scale its efforts to accelerate the shift of power dynamics within international development cooperation. We do so by creating strategic partnerships, like with Ringo and through our recently launched Partos Shift the Power Lab 2.0 where six concrete products will be developed to accelerate the power shift within international development cooperation.

More about RINGO

On 8 September 2020, the Reimagining INGOs (RINGO) project was launched to facilitate a system-change process to transform global civil society in response to the present-day challenges within the sector. Ringo convenes a unique ‘Social Lab’ of global innovators who represent ‘the system’ of INGOs (including southern partners, funders and INGO leaders) to rapidly develop and launch prototypes that can transform INGO institutions and the systems in which they function. In 2022 RINGO launched a set of eight prototypes that can begin to challenge some of the major structural barriers to change in the sector and demonstrate new ways of working in order to strengthen the international development system.

More about the Partos Shift the Power Lab 2.0

Building upon past work and working complementary with international initiatives like the RINGO social lab, Partos has launched the Shift the Power Lab 2.0 (STP-Lab). Together with Partos members and international constituencies the STP-Lab works on four objectives. Focus is on:

  • Policy recommendations for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutional donors (action 1)
  • Tools to facilitate organisational change among (I)NGOs (action 2,3,4)
  • Inclusive narratives and communication approaches within international development cooperation (action 5)
  • Research to learn about the (un)intended effects of shifting power strategies (action 6)

You can read more about the actions here and on the Shift the Power Lab 2.0 Miro board.
