Lead the Partnership’s mission of Global Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention

Are you driven by peace, social justice, and building resilient communities worldwide? Do you have a proven track record in visionary leadership, strategic planning and management, and fostering international partnerships? GPPAC (The Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict), a member-led network of civil society peacebuilding organisations, seeks an inspiring Executive Director to steer our global agenda and strengthen our impact.

About Us

Founded in 2005 at the UN Headquarters, GPPAC is a dynamic network of over 260 local and regional peacebuilders across the globe, from the Philippines to Georgia, Colombia to Uganda. We work at the forefront of current issues—advancing peace education, influencing policy, promoting social cohesion and human security. Projects that have our current focus are climate change and the inclusion of women and youth in peacebuilding. Our unique approach fosters local, regional, and global collaboration, learning, and advocacy, including influential engagement with bodies like the UN and OAS.

GPPAC’s structure

Members are actively engaged in 15 regional networks that focus on local priorities and agendas. Each region is led by a Regional Steering Group and coordinated by a Regional Secretariat. The regions are also connected via several thematic Working Groups.

At the global level, the GPPAC network is directed by the International Steering Group, which includes Regional Representatives and chairs of Working Groups alongside up to six international NGO representatives. Together, they shape GPPAC’s global agenda and strategic direction. The GPPAC Foundation, headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands, plays a coordinating role for these network structures. The Foundation is guided by the General Board of Directors and supported by the Global Secretariat, which the Executive Director leads with support from the Management Team.
