HealthNet TPO is a respected international non-profit organization dedicated to improving health systems and strengthening communities in areas disrupted by conflict, disaster, and poverty. With active country programs in Afghanistan, Burundi, South Sudan, and Colombia, and a head office in Amsterdam, we work at the intersection of public health and human dignity.

The Role: Treasurer – Board of Directors
We are currently seeking an experienced and mission-aligned professional to join our Board as Treasurer , succeeding the current officeholder whose term concludes in mid-2026. We aim for onboarding in Q3 or Q4 of 2025 to ensure a smooth transition and meaningful handover.

Key Responsibilities as Treasurer
- Chair the Audit & Risk Committee and guide financial governance at Board level.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer.
- Oversee financial continuity, sustainability, and risk management frameworks.
- Review and assess financial policies, procedures, budgets, and forecasts.
- Monitor and evaluate monthly management reports and annual financial statements.
- Maintain a constructive relationship with the external auditor and ensure transparency in reporting.
- Provide oversight and guidance on strengthening financial operations and IT systems.
General Board Responsibilities
- Fulfill statutory duties as a Board member.
- Prepare diligently and contribute actively to Board meetings.
- Set and maintain high standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
- Support and challenge the executive team constructively.
- Represent HealthNet TPO and its values in relevant external networks.
- Advocate for our mission and help expand the visibility and reach of the organization.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven senior-level experience in finance, auditing, or accountancy (eg CFO, financial director, audit partner).
- Demonstrable knowledge of RJ650 – the Dutch accounting guideline for fundraising organizations, and knows how to apply it in financial reporting.
- Experience with ANBI administration and reporting requirements.
- A background in non-profit, international development, or public health sectors is advantageous.
- Understanding of financial governance in a complex, multi-country organization.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Affinity with HealthNet TPO’s mission and values.
