Organisation

UNOY is a youth-led network of over 100 youth-led organisations in over 80 countries working towards more peaceful societies. Our International Secretariat is located in The Hague, the city of peace and justice. The Secretariat is run by a young and dedicated international team of 11 staff, 5 interns, and 6 remotely based Regional Coordinators. The Secretariat is accountable to the International Steering Group, a body consisting of 6 elected representatives from the network to represent members’ interests in strategic planning and decision making. The leadership of the network is shared between 2 Co-Directors.

Since 2017, a process of decentralisation of the network has been taking place through the progressive appointment of Regional Coordinators in each of UNOY’s 6 regions as well as the shifting of increasing power and resources to the regional structure of the network. The aim of decentralisation is for the network to be increasingly driven by the needs and priorities of member organisations, so that UNOY can better support members in their peacebuilding work. In 2026, a new decentralisation roadmap will be developed to guide this process until 2030.

Position

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the decentralisation process, the coordination of the 6 regional networks, and programming at the network level. You will be supported by a Network Officer, who you are also responsible for recruiting and managing, and you will oversee the work of the 6 Regional Coordinators. You will be supervised by the Co-Director (Strategy). Together with the secretariat, the network is the backbone of UNOY and therefore, you will closely collaborate with staff, interns, Regional Coordinators, members, partners and donors in your work.

We welcome applications from young people of all backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, nationalities, religions and beliefs. To foster meaningful participation of young people and youth leadership, we strongly encourage candidates under the age of 27 to apply. In line with our commitment to inclusivity and diversity, we also encourage applications from transgender and non-binary people, people of colour, and people with a disability, as they remain underrepresented in the field.

The position includes international travel to attend network events and advocacy engagements.
