Recap – Book Presentation – MCLD: We power our Own Change

What is community-led development (CLD)? And how does CLD work in practice?

Last week we invited the Movement for Community-Led Development to present their new book, We Power Our Own Change – Community-led Development in Practice. Gunjan Veda, Elene Coete and four other co-editors Apoorva Oza (Aga Khan Foundation) Pascal Djohossou (MCLD Benin), Nixon Ochatre (Amani Initiative, Uganda) and Ida Yabo Kossou (ITISA).shared insights into what CLD truly means and what it looks like on the ground. The book fills a knowledge gap on the real lived experiences of community-led practitioners around the world.

For the authors the answer is clear, “the future is community-led”, the solutions are already here and exist within the communities.
